Revision Grids

Revision grids can be used at the end of a topic or as a starter or plenary to check progress. The grid (see example below) covers the topic or key words you want the students to revise. You could reduce the amount of squares if it is for a shorter starter or plenary.

Students work in groups of 2s or 3s and are given coloured post-it notes (in an ideal world each small group would have different coloured post-its) and they are given a time limit to try and answer as many of the questions as possible. They write their answers of the post it, pass it by you for inspection to check the answer is correct and then stick it on the correct question on the grid. The group who have added the largest amount of answers to the grid in the time limit are the winners.

The grid I used (below left) is on the CRL so you could edit it. The original idea came from http://www.tombrush1982.blogspot.co.uk/   or @tombrush1982
